So if anybody still reads this,

I’d like to say that it was an awesome experience to work with all of you. I think we did a great job, I think the best of the 3. Not that theirs were bad.

Anyways, do we have the video of the presentation up anywhere?

Some of my professors have asked us to give the presentations to their classes. Who’s got it and how can I get a copy? Also is there a version of the final script up somewhere? is it the Google Doc?

One of my friends suggested doing a search on YouTube under community, then put in your school name, so that you get a list of people who have posted video to that site.  You could do the same with MySpace.  I am sending out messages to people on YouTube right now, just wanted to let you know about this idea while I was thinking about it.  Hope this helps.

Just found this a couple minutes ago.

Called Now Public.

Seems to have some similar features to Tandem, including flickr and youtube use.

Not sure how local it is or can be. Check it out.

Today and tomorrow I’m finishing up the Google doc for research, and I’ll post it tomorrow, too.
Current sections in it are the Need, Competition, Marketing, Legalities, Demographics and Statistics (but definitely not in this order).

Do we need more? And perhaps we should match what the presentation team is going to use and say.

Holler in my direction with any rants and raves.

Possible name for the collab portal… September 20, 2007

Okay…so when I was in tenth grad we had to make up a planet for my world history class with our own rules and stuff…we got to name it too.  I called my planet “Tandem” because it meant together and I was a bleeding heart liberal then too…so I thought togetherness on my planet could be promoted if it were named after such a lofty aspiration.  The actual dictionary definition of tandem is:

As an idiom-

1.)  In single file (they swam in tandem)

2.) In association or partnership

The second one more accurately portrays the ideals behind the collab portal, because it’s this great big, giant partnership of citizens, journalists together, sharing their love for truth and good story telling…in harmony…I sorta sound like Marlo Thomas…but anywho…I like “Tandem” as our moniker…it’s a one-worder sorta like Madonna or Google (note to all possible readers…I am in no way shape or form comparing us to the likes of Madonna or Google, but merely using them as one word name people and things that are highly successful the world over).  And secondly, you are not allowed to say you don’t like it unless you have a better suggestion…ahem…Along with being a bleeding heart liberal I am also a dictator…whoda thought?

I think my title says it all, but I’m also willing to work anywhere but creating tech.  I think I might be good at marketability. I frequently say that’s nice, but how will it draw more hits for the news organization.  I’m usually one of the first people to bring up difficulties.  Wow, I sound so negative.  I like to think of myself as realistic, not pessimistic.  I’d post this on the doc, but I still can’t, and I even have a Gmail account now.  My Gmail is rjperezperez.
